Teach Another Generation (TAG)
Our Chapter wishes to further our cause by providing sewing education opportunities for all interested youth. Through our junior program, TAG (Teach Another Generation), we:
- Mentor high school Fashion Design students by working with the classroom teacher.
- Donate ASG Junior Memberships to top design students.
- Provide prizes for the Sewing Division of two county Junior Livestock Shows.
- Are expanding our program to include Home Schooled youth and 4H programs.
in 2013 – 10 of our guild members worked with approximately 100 Fashion Design students at King High School to help with their design projects as they prepared for their fashion show. Both the students and the volunteers from the Guild have enjoyed the exchange. Valerie Elizondo, the classroom teacher, really appreciated our input saying, “I want to thank all the ladies for their friendly support to help nurture the sewing talents of these young people.”
